Koessler Athletic Center is a historic sports venue located on the campus of Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. It opened in 1929 and has been the home of the Golden Griffins basketball teams ever since. With a seating capacity of 1,400, it's one of the city's smaller sports venues but still provides for an incredible atmosphere for fans to enjoy Golden Griffin events. Koessler Athletic Center is a 2,196-seat multi-purpose arena in Buffalo, New York on the campus of Canisius College. It was built in 1968, is home to the Canisius College Golden Griffins men's and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball team. It was the also home to the Buffalo Stampede of the Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League until the team folded. Built in 1968 at a cost of $3 million, the KAC houses both the Physical Education and Athletic Departments and is the site of intercollegiate, intramural, recreation and local high school sporting events. The facility also hosts the College's graduation ceremonies every May.
